James Kane

As a graduate of the Belmont Central School Class of 1966, Mr. Kane is a retired Genesee Valley Central School Math Teacher. He graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and earned his Master of Science in Education from Elmira College in 1975. 

While he was a student in high school and college, he participated in various sports and clubs. Mr. Kane was a Math Teacher at Corning/Painted Post School District, Belmont Central and Genesee Valley Central Schools prior to his retirement in 2000. 

He served as Trustee for the St. Mary’s Holy Family Roman Catholic Church.  He deserves special recognition and thanks for establishing the “Kane Family Scholarship” for Genesee Valley Central School graduates.  This scholarship financially assists many GVCS graduates entering college and is very much appreciated by our community. He resides in Belmont.

Lindsey Marcus

As a graduate of the Genesee Valley Central School Class of 1999, Mrs. Marcus is a School Counselor at Wellsville and previously at Andover Schools. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Nazareth College in 2003 and her Master of Education Degree in School Counseling in 2005 from Alfred University. 

Lindsey was active in high school sports and clubs. As a personal achievement, Lindsey started the first Gay Straight Alliance in Allegany County at Wellsville High School. She currently serves as the Department Chair for Wellsville School Counseling Department and is a Crisis Team Member. She has been a member and President of Allegany County Counselors Association and New York State School Counselors Association.  She was also a past NYS United Teachers Union Representative.

She was once told, “There is never any harm in putting yourself out there and showing kindness to others”.  Lindsay truly appreciates how education can impact a person’s life. Lindsey has children attending Genesee Valley and one who is a graduate of GVCS.  She now resides in Arkport with her husband and four-month-old baby boy.

Paul Gallmann

As a graduate of the Angelica Central School Class of 1955, Mr. Gallmann is a retired Hardware Business Owner.  He earned his Associates Degree at Alfred State College in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 and received an honorable discharge.  He established the Gallmann Brothers Hardware in 1959 and it is still operating today.  Paul is well known for his contributions to the community.  He coached youth basketball and baseball. 

He joined the Angelica Fire Company in 1965, served as Fire Chief from 1980-2005 and was the Allegany County Fire Coordinator from 2002-2011. He was a member and captain of the first Angelica Rescue Squad, an active EMT for 37 years and taught CPR, First Responder & Auto-Extrication courses.  He is the recipient of several awards including the Harriet C. Weber EMS Leadership Award, DeWitt Clinton Masonic Award, Angelica American Legion Award, and New York State Police Certificate of Appreciation.  Paul was an honoree for Pomona & Angelica Granges and Angelica First Baptist Church.  He served as Chairman for School Board Annual Meetings and Elections and served as Angelica Town Board Member for 31 years. 

The Village of Angelica declared a week in May 2005 as “Paul W. Gallmann Week”.   A sincere thank you to Paul Gallmann for his years of community service.  He resides in Angelica with his wife Carol, has two children – Brett Gallmann and Jill Bennett, both of Angelica, and has six grandchildren.
