EMT Certification Course
Genesee Valley Central School is offering a free, 165-hour Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification course beginning January 12, 2026—open to students ages 17+ across the region. This hands-on program includes classroom instruction, ride-along experience, and the opportunity to earn New York State EMT certification at no cost to students.

Hands On EMT Training
Build real-world skills through 165 hours of instruction led by certified local EMS professionals. Learn emergency response, patient assessment, and life-saving procedures.

Ride Along Experience
After completing classroom training, students participate in ride-along shifts with Wellsville Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Medical Transport Service to meet NYS patient-contact requirements.

Career Ready Certification
Students who complete the course and pass the NYS exam become credentialed EMTs, ready for immediate employment. We’ll even help coordinate interviews with local EMS providers.

This course is made possible through a generous grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), which supports Genesee Valley Central School in providing high-quality emergency responder training opportunities for local students.
