Extended School Day

All students at Genesee Valley benefit from an Extended School Day program
that is designed to provide a safe, structured extended learning environment.

Harleigh Silsby serves as our Extended Day Program Director. Her role involves coordinating all the details for after school clubs such as Girls on the Run, Garden, Cheer and Fitness, as well as the After-School Program.  She also directs Genesee Valley's Fun in the Jungle summer camp.

Who is the after school program for?

Any Genesee Valley student enrolled in PK4 through 6th grade.

What does the after school program include?

Creative activities

  • Puzzles
  • Coloring
  • Art projects
  • Lincoln logs
  • Legos
  • Board games
  • Weaving
  • Mindfulness and wellness activities
  • Playground and gym time

A healthy snack is provided each afternoon.

Weekly Schedule

Monday through Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A late bus will be provided at 5:15 for students needing transportation to Angelica drop off points only.

All clubs are offered to students free of charge.

Club Grades Details
After School Program PK4-6 Puzzles, coloring, art projects, Legos, board games, playground time, and more!
Ally Club   For students who identify as LGBTQ and for students who wish to offer support.
Archery Club 4-12  
Book Bandits 4-6 Competitive book club- students read the required books for competition-
Destination Imagination 1st-5th Student team up to showcase their unique solutions to science, technology, engineering, arts, math, and service learning Challenges
Drama Club 5-12 Each year students focus on producing a play or musical
FBLA 9-12 Open to students taking a business class with Mrs. Marciano or Mr. Mead
Fitness Club 9-12 Kids use the fitness center under teacher supervision
Girls on the Run 4-8 Girls train to run a 5K with other teams in Buffalo and also learn about healthy relationships
Lego Club 3-8 Students engineer and construct Lego projects
RoboJags 8-12 GV robotics VEX competition team
Scholastic Challenge 8-12 Compete in trivia competitions against other school districts.
Sewing Club 4-6  
Ski Club 5-12 Lessons and time to ski or snowboard on the slopes in January and February
